Here in Southern California, we never really have the opportunity to experience a true fall day. We usually go directly from summer to our version of winter. While fall foliage was nowhere to be seen, the weather for our parade was that of a beautiful fall day. We went from 95+ temperatures one weekend to a crisp 72 degrees for our 21st Annual Rescue Parade. The Burbank Kennel Club Dog Show has been our home for 13 of our events and we were thrilled to be back. All 33 Old English Sheepdogs entered in the parade came with their friends and loving owners to strut their stuff.

The Burbank Show is a Hollywood theme and colors of black and white. We garnered quite a crowd with our visiting celebrity look-a-likes helping us with the booth.

OESCA members Diane Reynolds, Marilyn and Kristy Marshall, Anne Marie Ritchie, Florence Narron, along with Chris Pesche helped keep the event rolling this year. We would also like say a big thank you to the Petco Foundation for sponsoring our parade.

Show Chairman Benjie Moses acted as a stand–in for Kennel Club President and OESCA member Marilyn Mayfield who had a whelping emergency. Benjie told us he was very impressed with how well behaved the dogs were. It was great to see so many OES and their families lounging under the trees together.

We tried every which way anyone could think of to get everyone in the group photo. We almost managed to get everyone in the photo by having some owners and dogs sit on the grass. If anyone has any idea on how to get 33 OES and their owners in one photo, please email us.
