Despite soaring gas prices, the turnout was great. We had 32 OES present. The moms and dads, as well as the dogs, enjoyed the Indian summer weather while visiting and catching up on the each other before the parade

We had our wonderful general raffle on Saturday and our special OES raffle on Sunday. This is our biggest fundraiser of the year so we were grateful for all the support. So much time goes into the event each year and there are so many ways that people help. A huge thank you at all who contributed raffle gifts, made raffle gifts themselves, soliciting raffle items, sold tickets, gave directions for the participants of the parade, took photos of entrants and provided set up/tear down help. Special thanks to our wonderful parade sponsors: General Cage, Tommy Hilfiger, Donna Karan, Cathy Wills, Lane Curtis and Garrison Financial. We couldn't have the parade and raffle without you!

The Burbank Kennel Club hosted a spectacular weekend of dog shows and their no-rain dancing worked perfectly this year. The rescue dogs and their families went around the large Group ring as spectators applauded. Then individually, each rescue family posed for a photo with OESCA member and Burbank Kennel Club President Marilyn Mayfield. Our group photo was so wide that it had to be taken in sections.

Every year our parade gets better and better. We had such a wonderful day seeing all the rescue dogs and their great families. Mark your calendars for October 1, 2006. Come and join us. We wonder how we can outdo ourselves next year!
