Old English Sheepdogs in All Shapes and Sizesby Jane Dempsey for the parade. We even had a six-year-old human owner who wanted to make sure that he matched his OES this year. He looked great as Sammy, the Old English Sheepdog. We were so pleased that forty-three rescue dogs and their special owners were able to spend part of their Labor Day weekend with us.With the continuing dog show schedule changes, our parade took place on Saturday, September 1, 2001. The day couldn't have been prettier as our OES rescue dogs circled the large ring at the Burbank Kennel Club Dog Show. Onlookers watched and applauded as the show announcer introduced each dog. Marilyn Mayfield, President of the Burbank Kennel Club, presented each participant with a ribbon and posed for a photo. Our group line-up went from one end of the ring to the other end of the ring with the dogs and owners all smiles. A big "thank you" to Petco, The FrameStore, Tommy Hilfiger, and Donna Karan, who were our parade sponsors this year. Our thanks to everyone who worked, donated prizes, and helped to make our raffle a big success. Mark your calendars for next year - The Burbank and Simi Valley Kennel Clubs will host four big days of dog shows over Labor Day Weekend. The "Labor Day Classic" should be a great weekend for showing your dogs! ![]() Forty-three Rescue Dogs and Their Proud Owners ![]() An Incredible Array of Raffle Prizes PARADE ARCHIVESTo view past parades, click on the year below. |
